My Philosophy,

​

Life is all about balance. What is the point in working or living life for the sake of paying the bills and living like a mouse in a cage? It is important to work hard, pay your bills and save for a rainy day, but it is equally important being able to do it with a smile on your face and taking time to smell the roses. ​

I was raised in a well disciplined house hold and taught Christian values for over 16 years. Although I am not a practising Christian now, the values and morals that were ingrained into my upbringing, still hold meaning today. I believe it is important to treat others how you want to be treated and love thy neighbour as thyself. The 21st Century is a minefield and it is important to be able to pass on these values and give our future leaders a chance at a bright future.

Teaching provides an opportunity to help students through their education process and attempt to make it a memorable, enjoyable experience. Learning up to date techniques and skills will be important for any teacher to provide activities and assessment that is relevant for 21st century learning. As a student learning professional knowledge and content it is my responsibility to be the adult and the Professional in the classroom and provide equal opportunity for all students. I thought teaching was all about showing a student how to do something, then making them repeat it and then assessing how they can do it again. This journey so far has opened my eyes about how students learn and how teachers can assist students in learning.​

Not all students have an equal opportunity in life. My role as their teacher will be to give them the capabilities to thrive in society and create a better future for themselves and the people in their lives. I look forward to being all I can be, and learn, through reflective practice, how to be a Professional and a positive role model and a good Teacher that makes students want to learn more.
